Server and security logs
The web host and content-delivery provider can process an IP address, request time, requested path, browser information and security events. These logs help deliver the site, prevent abuse and diagnose failures.
If you contact us, we process the address, message and any information you choose to include in order to reply and keep an appropriate record.
Do not send trading credentials, identity documents, wallet seed phrases or other secrets.
Theme preference
The light or dark theme selection is stored in your browser under
cpg-theme. It is not transmitted as a user profile and can be removed by
clearing site storage.
Analytics and accounts
Crypto Prop Guide does not provide user accounts, comments, newsletters or payment forms. It does not use the site to access Kraken account balances or trading records.
This site counts its own visits. The counter runs on our own server, on open-source software, and nothing is sent to Google Analytics or to any other company. Each page view records the page, the site you arrived from, your browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language, and an approximate location worked out from your IP address. The IP address itself is never stored, and neither is your full browser user-agent string. The counter sets no cookie and writes nothing to your browser, which is why this site still has no cookie banner to click through.
The counter also records where you click and how far down a page you scroll, so we can see which parts of a page are actually read. Those positions are aggregated into a heat map. Your screen and your session are never recorded: session replay is switched off on our server and nothing of the kind is kept.
If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, the counter ignores you completely. Any tracker-blocking extension stops it as well.
Sponsored slots
Pages that carry a Kraken offer can also show a sponsored slot, after our own recommendation: partway through the article on a few pages and screen sizes, near the end otherwise. It holds one or two partner offers side by side, depending on the width of your screen, each marked “Sponsored”. They are picked by our own affiliate system and served from this domain. No outside ad server chooses or delivers them, and no script or image is loaded from anywhere else.
To count how often a slot is shown, actually seen and clicked, the page sends our server a short note: which slot, which offer, which creative and at what size, what happened to it (shown, seen, clicked or unblurred), the page language, a device class worked out from the width of the browser window (phone, tablet or computer) and a random number that only lives as long as the page stays open. No cookie is set or read for it, and the note holds no IP address and no identifier that follows you from one page to the next. The request itself shows up in the ordinary server logs described above, like any other request to this site.
Your country, as our content-delivery network reports it, can be used at that moment to pick an offer or a link that suits where you are. It is not kept.
Clicking a slot goes through a short redirect on this domain to the brand it names, sometimes by way of that brand’s affiliate tracking link. The redirect is counted per offer and per day, with nothing about you attached. From there, the brand’s own privacy notice, cookies and terms apply, exactly as with the affiliate links described below.
Some offers can be shown blurred until you confirm you are an adult. If you do,
that answer is kept in your browser’s session storage under cpg-halt-ok
until the tab is closed. Nothing else about the slots is written to your
browser.
Affiliate links
Clicking an affiliate link sends you to another website. The destination can receive the referral identifier together with normal web-request information. Its own privacy notice, cookies and account terms then apply.
